This is a great park to take the kids or just to go without them.
Great quiet place to go for a walk or relax and catch some fish.
There is boat launching areas as well as hiking paths.
The hours of permittance I believe is dawn til dusk.

It's a pretty and decent park with a nice trail, fishing opportunities, frisbee golf, and picnicing. What else would you expect from a small town?
There are rules for everything here though.
Silver lake park is gorgeous. This park is perfect for taking family photos, having a birthday party or cookout, playing disc golf (Frisbee golf) or "hiking". The park has multiple pavilions that can be rented at low cost. There is a small gazebo that overlooks the lake and multiple playgrounds with old but sturdy equipment. When you first drive in, the grove of trees is perfect for photos, the trees were planted in rows and are old and tall, as most of the trees in this beautiful spot. There is also a tunnel of pine trees, a waterfall and bridges, and of course the shimmering lake. There are bathrooms near most pavilions and one by the docks. I caution any visitor to be careful on the drive, the road winds and locals are used to the turns and take it pretty fast. If you go to silver lake at night and walk to the fields, there is an amazing lightning bug show that rivals any fireworks.
There are multiple areas that are pretty secluded for family picnics and they are large enough for games.
